Pruning of all trees in school gardens, lawn regeneration, and new flowers in various areas of the city. And drones in flight to monitor the health of trees. These are some of the projects planned for the public greenery contract expiring in the coming months.

As per the contract, the new trees along the Poetto coastline will be "bioactivated" to allow for faster and more luxuriant growth.

For the company currently holding the contract, this will also be an opportunity to perform a final assessment of the stability of the existing trees, to minimize the risk of collapse or other similar issues. Regeneration and fertilization of all lawns in the area are also planned. Finally, with the planting of an additional 8,000 seasonal flowers and shrubs , the aim is to beautify the flowerbeds and thus enhance the entire city, even during the autumn months.

"Our city's public green spaces will be increasingly efficient and consistent with the environmental and social sustainability goals that the Milia administration has been pursuing since the last term," explains Environment Councilor Romina Mura . "In recent weeks, with the Environment Department, which is doing an excellent job, we are completing the new maintenance project for parks, gardens, and flowerbeds. Building on what worked in the contract that is about to conclude, we will introduce a series of corrections and new interventions that will make the service increasingly functional and modern. The goal is to make Quartu's public green spaces one of the city's strong points."
