Two poachers were reported by the Highway Police. They were discovered by a patrol from the Muravera Detachment during a routine evening patrol near the former penal colony of Castiadas.

The officers noticed a car on a dark, isolated dirt road, stopped it, and proceeded to search it, arousing suspicion both by the vehicle's presence in that area and by the nervousness of the two people inside.

Inside a backpack, a modified rifle with its ammunition, a laser pointer, a flashlight, a dagger and a switchblade were found.

In the homes of the two arrested individuals, a hunting rifle with its ammunition and a carbine that had been illegally held were found.

The weapons— a total of seven hunting rifles, two carbines, a laser pointer, a dagger, and a switchblade —were seized and confiscated, while the two, residents of Burcei, were reported to the Judicial Authorities for the unauthorized possession of weapons and objects capable of causing offence, weapon alteration, illegal possession of weapons, illegal possession of weapons and ammunition, and hunting during a general hunting ban.
