After the door of a well-known club in the center was closed in the face because she was trans, Martina Floris, born Gabriele, won a small part of the battle (still long): «I received two job offers in Cagliari. I'm so happy, because it's absurd that in 2023 we are still being evaluated - and discarded - for gender and not for the curriculum and one's skills. A cultural change would be needed ».
The 21-year-old originally from Carbonia has a ringing voice who entrusted her anger to Facebook and to the pages of our newspaper, exposing her painful past, made up of suffering, abuse and that path of transition undertaken by challenging many, too many prejudices. «I am infinitely grateful to those who gave me this opportunity, but I am also aware that deciding to change sex leads you to collide daily with the malice and ignorance of those who judge without knowing. I will have truly won the battle when it will no longer be necessary to justify oneself for one's sexual orientation and defend oneself from people's judgments and malice ».
