Nothing remains of the historic newsstand in via Roma, in Cagliari , managed by Antonio Durzu. This morning the last remains of the newspaper shop were also removed, which on 15 May was crushed under the weight of the branch of the monumental ficus , broken due to the presence of parasites inside the wood.

Recovering the kiosk, or what remained, had immediately appeared difficult after the accident, which fortunately occurred at 5.30, when there was no one inside . It had become impossible after the operations to remove the trunk: by dragging it, the structure was also uprooted.

Durzu's business, however, will not stop forever: the owner is awaiting the green light from the Municipality for the placement of another newsstand in Piazzetta Ingrao, in a space behind where his once stood.

The option proposed by the Town Hall, which wanted to grant the small kiosk of the infopoint next door, was impracticable : the structure is not secure, the shutters open with a blow and it is often forced open by stragglers who frequent the area.

Durzu waits to be able to go back to work.
