Cagliari, the nightmare is over: Giorgino gets water again

They spent a month and a half with only a trickle of water coming out of the taps: not enough to wash dishes, let alone take showers and clean in general.
But now for the inhabitants of the fishing village of Giorgino the nightmare is over: in the last few days Abbanoa intervened to repair an underground leak that had caused the problem, resolving it even if the work will have to continue on other sections of the pipeline.
"We first intervened in Viale La Plaia to repair a breakage at the level of the Civic Market", the Authority reports, "but the situation in the fishing village has not improved and therefore searches have begun to understand if there was another breakage not visible on the surface".
“They finally replaced a pipe,” explains Mariano Strazzeri, president of the Giorgino-Villaggio Pescatori neighborhood committee, “being left with very little water for so long had become unsustainable.”
Even the restaurants on the beach had to close since the problem began. If the emergency had not subsided, the residents had said they were ready to go en masse in front of the Abbanoa headquarters with water cans in hand as a sign of protest: now the hope is that there will no longer be any need.
