“Trained for merit as citizens and as students”. This is the title of the debate that took place this morning in the Aula Magna of the Archbishop's Seminary during the inauguration of the 2023-2024 year of the Sant'Efisio University College . The director of the College , Don Emanuele Meconcelli , the archbishop of Cagliari, Giuseppe Baturi , the vice-rector of the University of Cagliari, Gianni Fenu , and the director of the CEI National Office for Education, School and University, Ernesto Diaco . And again the mayor of Cagliari, Paolo Truzzu and the president of the Conference of University Colleges of Merit, Vincenzo Salvatore .

«Culture and education – said Baturi, today constitute the terrain on which it is still possible to create bridges, bring people together and thus build a future of peace. In a time troubled by wars and particularisms, the College represents, also in light of the welcoming experiences that come to life in it, including the Unicore project created together with the University of Cagliari and the diocesan Caritas , a testimony of a possible fraternity , where everyone can learn to be themselves precisely because they are part of a community and exposed to a culture different from their own and with a stimulating educational proposal."

The College has 115 rooms and today hosts 114 students - enrolled in thirty-nine different study courses - who come from ten Italian regions and eight, however, are students who come from abroad (Syria, Israel, Japan, Eritrea and the Democratic Republic of Congo ). The most represented course of study is medicine and surgery with twenty-four collegians.
