A motion to ask the Region to open its 1500 car parks to citizens: they could lend a hand at night and on holidays to manage the hunger for parking spaces in the center of Cagliari. The document, which concerns viale Trieste, via De Magistris and via Battisti (among others), was approved by the city council of Cagliari.

But it's controversial. «On 7 July 2022», explains the municipal councilor of Orizzonte Comune Marzia Cilloccu, «the opposition in the municipal council presented an agenda to commit mayor Truzzu and his council to making the ready parking lots usable. Result: the proposal was rejected in the chamber by the majority."

Cilloccu continues: «Several questions were presented on the matter, a public meeting was organized to further sensitize the citizens and the council to the problem, but nothing in fact was achieved other than an aggravation of the inconveniences following the opening of the well-known construction sites at the same time in via Roma and viale Trieste".
