For 17 years, in the heart of Cagliari , an unspecified number of people have been occupying - illegally - a piece of viale Regina Elena : an area of about one hectare, owned by the municipality. The string of promises from politicians on both sides was useless, who in turn said: "We are looking for a solution."

«Order of release and eviction for untitled occupation», read the executive order of 26 June 2018, signed by the manager of the Tax and Heritage service Francesca Brundu. The document in question ordered the release of the two buildings and of the entire area included in the numbers 34-36-36A within and no later than ten days, but it remained a dead letter; like all the commendable intentions lavished over the years by the various exponents of the administrations that have succeeded without being able to remedy the abusive occupation of the records. It began way back in 2006, after the eviction of the Charanga, which , although it enlivened the nights in Cagliari, seemed not to yield enough money for the Municipality .

With the music off, the untitled occupation of this slice of the city designed by the architect Ubaldo Badas began.

"For a long time now I have been denouncing the illegal occupation of this valuable space in the city, stolen from the community with a state of illegality that has been going on for seventeen years and which I believe can no longer be tolerated", comments Enrica Anedda Endrich (FdI), president of the Culture, Entertainment and Public Green Commission. "A valuable space stolen from the citizenry, where you can't even look out, if you don't risk being threatened as happened to me", he says.
