Resources are arriving to support the restoration of the areas affected by the exceptional weather events of January and February 2026.

Ten million euros have been allocated by the Region to municipalities through budget adjustments for the repair of the damage caused by Cyclone Harry and Cyclone Oriana, which hit Sardinia earlier this year . Another million euros has been allocated for the large industrial areas affected by the storm.

The resources are part of the process initiated following the declaration of a state of emergency and the surveys carried out in the affected areas. The documentation attached to the law lists 1,438 municipal reports relating to public property and a damage assessment far exceeding the resources available to date.

"The emergency doesn't end when the alert ends," said Environment Councilor Rosanna Laconi. "After the relief phase, the equally important task of restoring normal conditions to the affected areas, infrastructure, and businesses remains."

An additional one million euros is allocated to the large industrial areas affected by the exceptional storm surges of January and February , for the restoration of infrastructure, plants and equipment and for the recovery from the seabed of materials and goods swept away by the events.

The provision allows for the granting of contributions to damaged public and private entities.

"The scale of extreme events requires working simultaneously on prevention and recovery capacity. Investing in resilience means reducing risks beforehand, intervening during the emergency, and supporting local communities in their return to normalcy," concludes Councilor Laconi.
