The elevator has been standing still for so long that the entrance has become a shelter for a homeless person. A cardboard "repairs" a makeshift bed in the municipal plant compartment in the upper part of viale Regina Elena, in Cagliari , which should allow the connection with Piazzetta Mercede Mundula, above the old editorial office of L'Unione Sarda, in two steps.

But residents and tourists have not been able to use it for some time. Unlike other elevators for Castello, according to what transpires, a "simple" maintenance operation is not enough: the fear is that the entire machinery will need to be replaced.

Meanwhile, there are those who at least take advantage of the situation of abandonment: the cold will be felt shortly and the entrance offers a minimum of shelter.
