The elevators of Castello, in Cagliari, have reopened (almost all). The safety checks carried out yesterday on the elevators of the old Unione Sarda office (the highest), that of the Bastione di Saint Remy (covered walkway) and that of Santa Chiara recorded a positive outcome.
The Unione Sarda - basso lift, which connects Viale Regina Elena with the sports facilities on the embankment and allows access to the historic district of Castello via the other facility, has instead been replaced . The new one will be operational by the end of July, ensuring greater efficiency and reliability.
The municipal technical offices, the Municipality states, «are constantly committed to guaranteeing the regular functioning of the elevators, addressing the wear and tear of the mechanical and electronic parts due to the daily and intensive use of the systems. Each lift is equipped with a 24-hour video surveillance system and a malfunction monitoring platform, which allows the company contracting the maintenance work to intervene promptly if necessary"
