Cagliari mourns Don Dino Pittau, who died at the age of 92. The members of the Toniolo association, of which he was spiritual assistant, communicated the news of his death: «Today is a very sad day. In the certainty that he has reached a well-deserved paradise» , reads a note, «we pray for him as we are sure that he will assist us from up there. For us who have always known and loved Don Dino, even if in his long ecclesiastical career he deserved the title of monsignor, canon of the Cathedral». Mario Girau writes of him: «From up there he won't miss his “work”».

Don Dino was assistant parish priest from 1956 to 1966 at Sant'Anna, in Cagliari. Then San Biagio (Dolianova), of which he was parish priest from 1967 to 1975, Sanluri (1975-1986), Monastir (1986-1990), Sant'Avendrace (1990-1998) and finally in the Cathedral (1998-2008). The parish priest was also a religion teacher in numerous schools.

The funeral chamber will be prepared in the sacristy of the canons in the Cathedral of Cagliari: here Don Dino had been parish priest after his brother Tonio, who died under mysterious circumstances.
