Cagliari, Sant'Efisio does not fill hotels and B&Bs: «Rooms 50% occupied»

There is a sharp decline in tourists in hotels and bed and breakfasts in Cagliari for Sant'Efisio. For Fausto Mura, president of Federalberghi Sud Sardegna, and Laura Zazzara, president of B&B Cagliari «in the long weekend from 30 April to 2 May in Cagliari and its surroundings, the presences in the accommodation facilities did not record the expected sold out of previous years, with the rooms 50% full."

Mura and Zazzara believe that a combination of events contributed. Above all, the absence of stands for the May 1st procession weighed heavily, which did not allow tour operators to sell tickets for the festival.

For Federalberghi and Extralberghiero the attendance instead arrived with the great international tennis: the ''Sardegna Open'', currently taking place at the Monte Urpinu Tennis Club.
