Race against time to save the life of a newborn just one day old, hospitalized in Cagliari and in need of specific care at the Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital in Rome.

For this reason, the doctors of the Sardinian capital alerted the Prefecture, which in turn requested the urgent intervention of an Air Force "Falcon" aircraft , specialized in emergency medical transport.

The Falcon then took off from Ciampino airport landing in Elmas, where the baby, protected in a special thermal cradle , was loaded on board together with his father and a medical team for in-flight assistance.

Then the Air Force plane left for the capital. Upon landing, the little boy was finally transferred by ambulance to the Infant Jesus , where he is currently hospitalized.

The emergency transport - explains a note from the Air Force - "was coordinated by the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, the operations room which has among its tasks also that of activating and managing urgent medical transport, giving the 'take-off order to the aircraft that the Armed Force keeps ready, 24 hours a day, in various bases, for this kind of need ”.
