Cagliari, photovoltaic at risk of collapse: over one hundred parking spaces at Brotzu banned
The ban after the collapse of the load-bearing structure of a plant above the rest areas. Cugliara (Fials): «Discomfort for patients and employees. Never any maintenance, the metaphor of the entire Arnas system»Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
The scaffolding of the photovoltaic system is at risk of collapse, more than one hundred parking spaces at Brotzu are closed. When will they be usable again? No one knows. And it is not good news for patients, especially those who have to take tests in the nearby laboratories, and not even for employees, who every day have to deal with a chronic lack of parking spaces in the largest hospital in Sardinia.
The problem arose last October 23, when a part of the system built above the parking spaces collapsed, damaging a parked car. The wooden support had given way. After the accident, checks were started and it emerged that the problem was much larger. Thus the parking ban was imposed, pending safety measures.
"We understand that maintenance of the panels has been carried out for a short time, regularly paid for, but apparently no one has thought to carry out a check on the stability of the load-bearing structure", accuses Paolo Cugliara, provincial secretary of Fials. Who broadens the horizon of the analysis: "There was a collapse, only in one case the damage was limited to one car. This situation can be taken as an emblem of the management of Arnas: it falls to pieces and nothing is done. And we cannot rely on chance hoping that nothing serious happens". In the meantime the problem is growing: parking regulations have been announced for years, the unionist underlines, " but nothing has been done. With serious inconvenience for everyone". For the patients, first of all. But also for the employees: they must guarantee the service to the users with punctuality: "For now we know that those hundred parking spaces are not usable", Cugliara reflects again, "but we have no guarantees on the safety of the others under the rest of the panels. And if they were to be declared unfit for habitation? It would be chaos."
