A race against time to save a three-day-old newborn baby whose life was in danger.

The little girl was urgently transferred from Cagliari airport to Ciampino airport, on a Falcon 900 transport aircraft from the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force.

The little patient, the Air Force explains, needed to be urgently transferred from the Monserrato Polyclinic in Cagliari to the Bambino Gesù Hospital in Rome.

The newborn was accompanied by her parents and medical staff who monitored her throughout the flight.

The flight was activated at the request of the Prefecture of Cagliari to the Situation Room of the Air Force Air Squadron Command based in Milan.

This immediately interested the 31st Wing of Ciampino, one of the departments that carries out the "operational readiness" service for this type of mission.
