The Council puts down in black and white the costs for the organization of the New Year's concert: one million euros (750 thousand from the Municipality plus 250 thousand made available by the Region) to celebrate the arrival of 2024 with Marco Mengoni (there is no signs but there is an agreement on the 250 thousand euro fee). Concert moved to the Fair for safety reasons and with limited numbers: we are talking about 28 thousand people.

And controversy erupts. “Spending so much public money on the New Year's concert is inappropriate,” says Marzia Cilloccu, minority councilor and group leader in the Council of Orizzonte Comune. "There's no point in bringing the best singer in the world to the city if in the end you have to have a limited number of people at the New Year's concert," underlines Matteo Massa, leader of the Progressisti group.
