Mystery surrounds the lifeless body of a thirty-year-old found this morning in the waters of Cala Fighera, in Cagliari.

HERE IS THE NEWS OF THE FINDING

According to an initial investigation by coroner Roberto Demontis, the young woman fell into the sea from a considerable height, perhaps from the cliffs of the same cove, often frequented by hikers. The thirty-year-old was probably not alone: she had been seen before with a man, more or less the same age as her. For this reason, this other person is being sought, at sea or in the area, between Calamosca and Sella del Diavolo.

The Coast Guard is working on the case, engaged in searches at sea and on land with patrol boats, helicopters and personnel, in addition to the firefighters. The investigations to try to understand what may have happened are being carried out by the investigators of the Flying Squad.

The woman's body, in the water a short distance from the rocks, was noticed by a hiker. A backpack with several personal effects was also recovered. A purse was also found, which could belong to the man who was perhaps with the young woman.

According to initial information, the thirty-year-old had not returned home yesterday. Her worried relatives reported the incident to the police. They were no longer able to contact the woman.

The presence of a second person – almost certainly a man – has yet to be ascertained. But the research is ongoing and no hypothesis is being ruled out for now.
