“Compro oro on the road”, the traveling investigation by Striscia la Notizia correspondent Max Laudadio on “gold traffickers” stopped in Cagliari.
In the report broadcast on Canale 5, Laudadio and his "accomplices" toured some areas of the city - near the station, in San Michele, in Sant'Elia - meeting "various individuals willing to buy the precious metal on the street, regardless of its provenance".
"There are those who resell the gold abroad, those who advertise their business on social media and those who also pose as drug dealers," explains Striscia when launching the report.
Among the “on the road” buyers, some are foreigners, some are Italian, some start negotiations on the street, others in their cars, and still others are willing to “close” at home.
Eventually the correspondent manages to interview one of the buyers, who first denies it and then, when cornered, admits that buying and selling gold on the street, even knowing that it is stolen, is a way to "fuel the thefts."
