«Cagliari enjoys a privileged position in the center of the Mediterranean, an element that is encouraging tourists and an increasing number of people, families and professionals from different sectors, from technological innovation to the maritime economy, from culture to sport, not only to visit but also to choose to live in our city».

This is how Mayor Massimo Zedda commented on the primacy of the capital of Sardinia achieved in the ranking of the Climate Liveability Index of Corriere della Sera in collaboration with iLMeteo.it.

Cagliari on this front is the best city in Italy out of 108 provincial capitals. A position that comes from the low number of days with African heat, only 16 against for example the 58 of the Lombard city Cremona. And then from the presence of summer breezes, with a figure that places the Sardinian capital in first place in Italy.

The low number of rainy days is also counted: only 33 in a year against, for example, the over 120 of the Lombardy cities of Varese, Monza and Lecco, the rainiest cities in Italy. Of course, on the other hand it means that there is a problem with water supplies, but this is another ranking.
