Cagliari, fake bomb in front of the INPS headquarters: police investigations
The gesture was probably intended to create alarmism: the fake device made up of a package with a canister and a wireA bomb alert was triggered at the INPS in Cagliari, in Viale Regina Margherita. A suspicious package was noticed this morning: the police cars, the forensics team and then the bomb squad intervened to evaluate the packaging.
After the investigations, the emergency ended. The object, left in front of the entrance probably to create alarmism, was composed of a casing with a canister from which a wire emerged so as to make it visually similar to a homemade bomb.
Shortly before 8am, a security guard noticed the package and raised the alarm.
The institute's offices were evacuated, the area closed to traffic.
Traffic has now returned to normal.
The police will investigate, trying to identify who left the fake bomb in front of the INPS headquarters.
