Via Anglona, via Cornalias and via Monteponi : these are just some of the streets in the Is Mirrionis district in Cagliari with the road surface completely worn out or even, in some points, completely absent.

An uncomfortable situation for the inhabitants of the area , including many university students, who are forced to deal with holes every day - sometimes very deep - which have caused falls and even serious accidents . Among the most critical points, via Is Mirrionis stands out followed by numbering, a side street on the right of via Cornalias.

«This is an area very popular with university students, many of us have homes here. The situation on the roads constantly exposes us to daily risks and inconveniences due to potholes and uneven parts that risk causing us to trip or fall», points out Jole Dessì, a 25-year-old university student.

To increase the dose also Alessandro Fadda, city councilor. «There are various points in really bad condition, for years now. We need to intervene immediately and remedy a disastrous situation: all these are very busy streets, among other things near the Santissima Trinità hospital and the market in via Quirra , the road network must be as easy as possible while it is currently rather difficult to move around .

Not only Is Mirrionis: the district of San Michele also presents similar problems and to notice this it is enough to pass through via Hermada and via Monte Sabotino , among the streets most marked by neglect. The asphalt in several parts - especially in the central ones - is completely missing, the cars are forced to move almost in the vicinity of the parking lots but also in this case they are obliged to avoid the remains of tiles from the uprooted sidewalks, sandy stretches and remains of stones. All this, combined with the high speed of motorists, makes the streets among the most risky points in which to transit.

"What we university students ask for, as well as all the other inhabitants of these two districts - concludes Jole Dessì - is the possibility of resurfacing the road as soon as possible".

Falls, sprains, damage to the suspension : these are problems on the agenda with which the residents and the cars that pass through these streets every day have to deal with, waiting for an increasingly urgent and necessary intervention to finally be able to circulate in total safety .
