The alarm was raised yesterday evening in the centre of Cagliari , where the prompt intervention of the Carabinieri prevented the situation from degenerating into much more serious events.
The man, a 51-year-old worker from Cagliari , already known to the police, despite a previous criminal proceeding for similar harassing behavior towards the same woman and his subsequent release from prison in 2023, had for some time resumed harassing and stalking her, generating in her a profound state of anxiety and fear for her safety.
After the intervention of the Carabinieri, alerted by a request for help to 112, the 51-year-old was taken to prison in Uta, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
The investigations are continuing to ascertain the possible existence of other stalking episodes, which may not have yet been reported by the victim.
