The State Police of Cagliari arrested a 31-year-old homeless man, accused of setting an arson attack.

The Flying Squad officers intervened during the night between Saturday and Sunday in via Palomba at the corner of via Cugia following a report of a fire inside an unused premises.

When the police arrived , the flames were spreading rapidly towards the apartment building above, also licking the cars and motorbikes parked in the street.

The officers then discharged the service fire extinguisher while waiting for the arrival of the firefighters , who then completed the extinguishing of the fire.

On the spot, as mentioned, the alleged perpetrator was stopped, already known to the police and arrested only a few days before for throwing a petrol bomb against a building of the Ministry of Infrastructure . For this last fact, the 31-year-old had been banned from residing in the territory of the municipality of Cagliari, a measure that the man did not respect.

During the personal search, two lighters and a spray can were found that the man had hidden in his pants pockets. The 31-year-old was therefore arrested and transferred to the prison of Uta, at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
