Green light for the redevelopment of the Cagliari water network and maintenance on the discharges of the Corongiu dam in Sinnai: 1.7 million euros have been allocated for the two projects drawn up by Abbanoa technicians and approved by Egas.

In Cagliari, the reconstruction of 1.2 kilometers of pipelines in an area with a high water dispersion index is planned. The affected streets are: Via Einaudi, Orlando, Abba, via Oristano and Iglesias in the Sonnino district and via Ozieri, via Macomer and Tempio in the San Vincenzo Medio district. 131 connections will be made and the pipelines replaced with new ones in ductile iron.

The territory of the municipality of Sinnai, on the other hand, will be affected by an extraordinary maintenance intervention on the discharges of the Corongiu Dam, for a total investment of around 500 thousand euros. The intervention provides for the safety of the surface drainage through land consolidation interventions in order to eliminate infiltrations at the base and along the drainage channel.

«Public safety, efficiency improvement and protection of the water resource: these are the cornerstones of our action and, thanks to the funding that comes from the State and from Europe, in recent months we have been able to launch numerous interventions with precisely this aim. We want to give the best possible water service back to the various areas of the island», comments the President of Egas Fabio Albieri.
