The Region has allocated 2 million and 200 thousand euros for the green area of viale Sant'Ignazio, in Cagliari. The resolution was presented to the Council by the Councilor for Environmental Protection, Rosanna Laconi: it approves the program agreement for the redevelopment and safety of the land included between the University Campus of via Sant'Ignazio da Laconi, via Don Bosco and viale Merello.

"Regenerating a public space means restoring value, function and identity to a place, strengthening the bond between territory and community"» declares the president Alessandra Todde, « intervening in this urban area means transforming it from an abandoned space into a shared resource, integrated into the landscape and life of the city».

After a series of preparatory meetings between the Department of the Environment, the Municipality and the University, the Metropolitan City and the National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari, the need for a joint intervention for the redevelopment of the green spaces of the university campus on Viale Sant'Ignazio was expressed, the first of a series of works for the enhancement of the entire complex that includes the university facilities, the green areas and the archaeological values present there.

The contribution is intended for the Municipality of Cagliari.
