A fire broke out in the Vinceremo building in via Petrarca in San Benedetto, Cagliari. Fire engines and two ambulances arrived on site. The fire, according to initial information, affected an apartment on the top floor.

Inside there was an elderly couple, who were immediately rescued. The two were slightly intoxicated and will be taken to hospital as a precaution.

The area was closed to traffic to allow firefighters and 118 to act safely. Local police, carabinieri and state police were also on site.
