It seemed like an accident like many others. When, late yesterday evening, the residents of via Montevecchio in Cagliari heard a bang, caused by a car hitting another parked vehicle, they thought that the collision had been caused by a distracted driver or, perhaps, under the effects of alcohol or some narcotic substance.

Immediately, they called 118 who sent an ambulance. The rescuers realized that there was nothing they could do: the man driving, a sixty-five-year-old, was dead.

No mystery, in reality: the motorist almost certainly had an illness that caused him to lose control of his vehicle, possibly ending up in the parked vehicle. Local police officers also arrived on site and, in addition to securing the area, carried out legal investigations.
