Faculty of Humanities of Cagliari closed for the whole day today: the inspection of the firefighters , the consultants of the Public Prosecutor's Office and those appointed by the 11 people so far registered in the register of suspects is underway in the Sa Duchessa pole for the collapse of a part of the building of the former Geology faculty, which came down on 19 October last. Only by a miraculous coincidence it was night: two hours before there had been the last lesson and if the collapse had happened earlier it would have been a tragedy.

For the moment, the hypotheses of crime are those of " culpable collapse of a building " and " culpable disaster ". The technical assessments will focus on the lack, or insufficiency, of the metal curves embedded in the concrete which are essential for hooking the floor to the load-bearing walls or pillars. And then we investigate the positioning, a few years ago, in the roof of the collapsed building of the very heavy central motor of a centralized air conditioning system.

So no lessons or degrees , classrooms, offices and libraries of the Sa Duchessa polo closed.

Technicians, firefighters and experts are working on the collapsed structure to find the materials useful for the investigations on which the consultants of the Prosecutor's Office are allegedly concentrating, led by the structural engineer Cristina Onnis , charged by the assistant prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia to shed light on the causes of the collapse.

THE SUSPECTS - Eleven suspects : in addition to the rector Francesco Mola , immediately the prosecutor Pilia had also investigated the general director of the University Aldo Urru , the manager of the investment, property and plant maintenance sector Antonella Sanna , and Agostino Zirulia of the Construction sector and plants; then - after the first investigations by the Flying Squad on maintenance interventions - the magistrate also enrolled the manager of the University maintenance office, Antonio Pillai , the works manager, Bruno Concas , the systems and infrastructure manager, Roberto Barreri , with also the managers of the companies that have completed the construction sites in the building: Alberto Mancosu, Paolo Mancosu, Fabio Vacca and Pier Paolo Cugurra .
