Even the less well-off will be able to receive eye examinations. This morning at Villa Asquer, in Viale Ciusa in Cagliari, the new eye clinic managed by the diocesan Caritas was inaugurated.

Archbishop Giuseppe Baturi unveiled the plaque: «Charity takes care of man in the integrity of his dimensions, both physical and spiritual». A way of saying, clearly, that the Church of Cagliari wants to take care of people also to alleviate their physical suffering.

The health director Giuseppe Frau, a highly experienced hygienist, will lead the facility : «The clinic», he explained, «will be open from Monday to Friday morning, based on the availability of the doctors. We will be able to guarantee a service to several hundred people. Five ophthalmologists have already been involved. There will also be references in hospitals in case the problems encountered here need to be explored further."
