The Carabinieri had been looking for him for a few days, after the Public Prosecutor's Office had issued an arrest warrant: he was suspected of having fired the gunshot that wounded a young man from Cagliari in the arm on July 26th, in Via Bosco Cappuccio in Cagliari.
Last night, after being untraceable for several days, the twenty-five-year-old from Cagliari decided to turn himself in to the police station .
Officers from the Police Headquarters' Flying Squad took him to the Uta prison, informing the Carabinieri that he had turned himself in. The military did not release the young man's identity.
An investigation is underway into why the arrested man fired a gunshot at the other young man, against whom the Carabinieri of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit and those of the Sant'Avendrace station had nevertheless gathered numerous elements of presumed guilt, which then led to the arrest warrant.
The man who ended up in prison will soon be questioned by the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office .
