On November 23, a month will have passed since the closure of over one hundred parking spaces at Brotzu, but there is still no date to have them available again. And for patients and operators the inconveniences are considerable, given that it is the largest hospital in Sardinia. "A shameful situation, that the general management does not have the courage to address definitively", the harsh denunciation of Gianfranco Angioni of Usb Sanità . The reason for the closure is linked to the collapse of a wooden support of the scaffolding of the photovoltaic system built above the parking lots, which damaged a parked car . The accident led to further checks, which highlighted a much more widespread problem. Which, however, has not been resolved to date.

"It is now clear that no measure can secure the now deteriorated and rotten pergola," warns Angioni . "After years of neglect and lack of maintenance, the structures have become extremely dangerous due to the risk of collapse. It is essential to immediately reclaim the areas by demolishing the pergolas and returning the appurtenances to their actual use. Without immediate solutions, we are ready to request an inspection by the authorities, to evaluate the opportunity to seize the shelters ."

In the meantime, four weeks later, not only has the situation not returned to normal, but it has even worsened. "Considering the real danger, for some days now, the passage through the pre-hospitalization areas has been prohibited," concludes Angioni.
