The Municipality of Cagliari acts promptly after the tragedy in Ozieri and the death of Gioele Putzu , the 9-year-old boy who was hit by a soccer goal while playing with friends. The municipal administration has asked the contractors to verify and consolidate the safety conditions for all sports equipment and furnishings in the city's green areas . An operation completed in the last few hours, which involved all the facilities.

"Receiving promptly the citizens' report on the safety situation of the goals of some soccer fields" comments the Sports Councilor Giuseppe Macciotta, "we immediately started the necessary verification and safety interventions. In particular, the goals of the soccer fields of via Is Bingias, via Fellini and via Africo were permanently anchored to the ground ".

"The work of the Department of Sport", continues Macciotta, "in collaboration with the Green Service, follows a multipurpose methodological approach consisting in ensuring the safety of sports facilities and in a broader planning aimed at promoting sports practice and outdoor activities; the planning and implementation of sports events; the maintenance, planning and implementation of new municipal and neighborhood sports facilities".

The councilor also provides an update on the structure of the skating rink on Via Rockefeller: « The work to restore the fencing is progressing , which will allow optimal and orderly use by young people and sports clubs».
