The ACLI "Caravan of Peace," a traveling initiative promoted nationwide to listen to, learn about, and promote solidarity and social inclusion, stopped in the Sardinian capital today .

Leading the delegation were Pierangelo Milesi, national vice president of ACLI, and Matteo Bracciali, vice president of the International ACLI Federation.

The day began with a meeting in Cagliari, where Giacomo Carta, provincial president of ACLI, and Mauro Carta, the association's regional president, welcomed the participants and explained the project's purpose: a journey that unites communities in the name of peace, social justice, and active participation.

The first stop took place in Quartucciu, inside the Juvenile Detention Center , where the delegation met with the director and educational staff. It was a moment of in-depth discussion about the work reintegration processes for young inmates and the daily challenges of juvenile justice. It was an opportunity to experience firsthand the silent yet crucial work of those who work alongside young people in difficult situations.

The caravan then moved to Pirri, to ExMè, where they discussed the many activities carried out by the center.

The morning concluded in Elmas, at the Somaschi Fathers' Community. Here, Father Elia shared with those present experiences of welcoming and caring for vulnerable minors and adults. Also attending the meeting were Valter Piscedda, regional councilor for the Democratic Party, and Franco Marras, director of the Sardinia Volunteer Service Center, both of whom are associated with the ACLI (Italian Association of Italian Workers' Clubs) and committed to promoting inclusive social policies.

"It was an intense day, spent listening and engaging with those who work every day to build a more just and humane society," commented Pierangelo Milesi.
