Carbonia: Flames erupt in front of a shop: window damaged, mattress and wooden floorboards caught fire.

There were moments of concern this afternoon over a fire that broke out on Via Roma in Carbonia . The flames were presumably started by cigarette butts, but firefighters will determine the cause. The fire also damaged the window of the Jysk store.

The fire affected some wooden pallets outside along with some items, including a mattress . Some people in the area immediately called 115, fortunately the police station is just a few hundred meters away.

The intervention of the firefighters limited the damage and ensured that the fire did not attack the interior of the shop, but the high flames gave rise to suspicions of the worst.

The staff present were also frightened, and subsequently had to close the business while waiting for all the smoke to escape from the premises.
