Three citizens were honored for their courage and civic duty. This ceremony was opened by Cagliari's mayor, Massimo Zedda , and President Marco Benucci, at this afternoon's City Council meeting.

The first award was given to Roberto Mamia , who promptly intervened when a fire was spreading at the entrance to the mosque on Via Del Collegio. "His gesture was an example of courage, promptness, and generosity."

The certificates delivered to Palazzo Bacaredda are a sign of the Municipality's esteem and gratitude for its actions, which represent a concrete example of solidarity and commitment to the community. "These fire incidents are different, but they all share the serious damage they could have caused to people and homes," the mayor emphasized, urging the community to stand together against the phenomenon of wildfires, which strike Sardinia, especially during the summer season, and often leave profound scars on the region.
