A pipeline breaks, the sidewalk collapses and the inconveniences multiply due to diversions and road closures. It happens in Stampace, Cagliari: the breakdown was recorded in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in front of the Carabinieri station.
Abbanoa workers removed the slabs of the pedestrian crossing at the corner of Via Pola, to verify the extent of the damage and then repair it.
"A 200 millimetre pipeline rupture occurred," Abbanoa explained, "the repair work will be completed this evening."
There was no shortage of disruption to vehicle traffic in the historic district. From 3:00 p.m. to around 5:30 p.m., traffic was blocked in the last stretch of the Corso, from Via Tigellio towards Viale Trento: drivers who wanted to enter the Corso from the first were asked by the local police to go around towards Piazza Yenne and Buoncammino, thus congesting the road that runs alongside the Roman complex, just as those coming from Via Pola were unable to continue towards Viale Merello and Viale Trento.
But at around 5:30 pm the Local Police cars left via Tigellio and the intersection with the Corso: «The traffic has been reopened for those arriving from the Corso while the turn for those arriving from the climb of via Pola remains blocked».
Why? "The construction site is right next to the intersection and therefore turning is difficult, especially for larger vehicles."
