A simple E-Distribuzione electrical substation that becomes a bridge between past and future : this is the meaning of the mural depicting Gigi Riva holding the hand of a child, also wearing a Cagliari shirt, and inaugurated today in Via Vespucci, right in front of the Sant'Elia stadium.

The work was created by Sardinian artist Nicholas Bembo and is part of the Cabine d'Autore project, an initiative promoted with Legambiente Sardegna and in collaboration with the Municipality of Cagliari, Cagliari Calcio, and the Riva family.

In addition to Enel, the initiative's promoter, Nicola Riva was also present, in his dual role as the son of Rombo di tuono and representing Cagliari Calcio.

“In this mural, it's as if my father were accompanying a child towards the stadium and towards the future,” comments Nicola Riva.

"The fact that it's located behind the current stadium, the Unipol Domus, and also behind the Vecchio Sant'Elia, where Cagliari's new stadium will be built, makes it even more beautiful."

Nicola doesn't forget to thank the distribution company for promoting the initiative: "Thank you so much for thinking of Dad."

"Simple electrical substations, perhaps not very aesthetically appealing, become artistic spaces that contribute to improving the urban aesthetic," comments the Enel spokesperson.

It also strengthens the community's sense of identity and belonging. Why Gigi Riva? He's a symbol of excellence and passion, as well as a strong connection to the Sardinian region; this mural therefore aims to represent a bridge between the past and the future, but also between tradition and innovation, which Enel promotes every day.
