The Contini 1898 winery, based in Cabras, has been awarded the prestigious "Eccellenze Italiane 2025" prize, a recognition that celebrates exemplary stories in the Italian entrepreneurial, cultural, and artistic landscape.

The award, presented by the Italian Excellence Project, founded by journalist Piero Muscari and now in its ninth year, was presented, on behalf of the company, to Alessandro Contini, president of Cantina Contini.

The award recognizes Contini's entrepreneurial journey, which, continuing a family tradition spanning over a century, has transformed the Cabras-based company with vision, passion, and local roots.

Specifically, the winery was able to "preserve the soul of the Sinis, saving Vernaccia from oblivion and transforming it into a symbol of identity, excellence, and resilience." The award ceremony took place during the Eccellenze Italiane Gala on October 10th at chef Heinz Beck's restaurant, "La Pergola."

The prestigious award was presented by lawyer Annamaria Bernardini De Pace—patron of the event—journalist Piero Muscari—the creator of the award—and chef Heinz Beck. In his speech, Alessandro Contini recalled how "each bottle is a liquid memory that tells the story of Sardinia, the sea, and time," and how his family, for five generations, "has chosen to listen to the voice of wine."
