Not just sea and sunbathing. A few meters from the crystalline sea of Sinis, from the coast of Cabrarese to that of San Vero, there are many open-air landfills. The bins where small waste should be disposed of, such as ice cream wrappers, handkerchiefs and cigarette butts, continue to be used as real dumpsters, with all the inconveniences that entails. A bad image for vacationers who come to the area, an economic loss for the coffers of municipal administrations.

A phenomenon that has been going on since the beginning of the summer. Open-air landfills are everywhere, from Putzu Idu to Su Pallosu passing through S'Aena Scoada and Sa Rocca Tunda. Then along the coast of Is Arutas, in Mari Ermi and along the streets of the seaside village of San Giovanni di Sinis. The capacity of the bins where there are those who abandon food and everything they produce after a day at the beach is quickly exhausted and the waste ends up on the street. But not only that. In fact, there are those who also abandon objects that should instead be taken either to the municipal eco-centre or by making an appointment with the company that visits the homes. You can see electronics on the ground, broken beach chairs, umbrellas, tires and much more.

Some things come from the beach, some don't: it's obvious that there are people who get rid of old material by bringing it close to the beach. A postcard that's not very nice to see because of the rudeness of people. The mayor of Cabras Andrea Abis doesn't mince his words: "They are uncivilized people, there's little to say, people who cause damage to us who spend a lot of money to dispose of waste that shouldn't be put in the right containers, but also to the territory. Sinis, because of the rude people, certainly doesn't make a good impression on us. And consequently, we administrators. The company tries to eliminate what is abandoned almost immediately, but often even two days pass".
