He was injured and in difficulty: for some time he had been in an evident state of deterioration in the waters of the Cabras pond. It is an adult flamingo, rescued and saved by the agents of the Oristano Forestry Station who intervened with a small boat.

Thanks to the collaboration of some fishermen of the Pontis Consortium, the forest patrol, sent by the Operations Room of the Oristano Inspectorate, located it near the bank of the Canale spillway. The flamingo was recovered and transported to the Duemari Veterinary Clinic, where it has already received initial care and adequate nutrition . Once recovered, the animal will be reintroduced into its natural environment.

The flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus Pallas) is among the species protected by the Washington Convention , which protects fauna and flora at risk of extinction, and by national and regional regulations on the protection of fauna.
