The investigation into the failure to demolish (and fail to renovate) the bridge in via Vittorio Veneto (Isticadeddu district) in Olbia, which according to the Tempio prosecutor's office should have been demolished with the utmost urgency after the flood of November 18, 2013 and rebuilt with an adequate size with respect to "foreseeable meteorological events", was carried out.

Funds were available for prosecutors that would not have been used. Failure to demolish, again according to the prosecutor, caused the Rio Seligheddu to flood on 2 October 2015 and the then mayor of Olbia, Gianni Giovannelli, was forced to demolish the structure with bulldozers.

The investigating judge of the Court of Tempio, Caterina Interlandi, has archived the position of the regional manager Giorgio Cicalò. The thesis of the defense, the lawyer Francesco Marongiu, was accepted. The judge established that Cicalò no longer had jurisdiction over the intervention and has nothing to do with the alleged omissions, because he ceased to hold the position of regional director of the Civil Protection in 2014. However, the investigating judge of Tempio ordered that the investigations continue to clarify the matter, in particular on the position of the manager of the Municipality of Olbia, Gabriella Palermo, and to identify any responsibilities of other subjects.

The bridge, after the urgent demolition of 2015, was rebuilt.
