Tragedy in the countryside of Monti , in Gallura . A 77-year-old farmer died in a flood wave while trying to drive his car across the Crasta river.

The victim is Giacomo Murrai , from Monti, whose body was recovered by the Olbia fire brigade a few tens of meters ahead of the point where the poor man had tried to ford the stream with his car.
The reconstruction is still summary.

According to the first investigations by the carabinieri, Giacomo Murrai decided to cross the watercourse in a shallow point with his Alfa 147.
Maybe the car had a breakdown and got stuck in the middle of the ford when a flood wave arrived caused by the heavy rains of these days.

The farmer, who probably got out of the car to go get help, was run over and drowned.

Great condolences in the village where Murrai, a former bricklayer, is well known.
