Yesterday in the Court of Appeal in Sassari, the sentence for the 25-year-old who, on 30 December 2018, hit a bouncer at the Touch nightclub in the chest with a boxcutter was reduced .

The panel, chaired by Maria Teresa Lupinu , in fact sentenced the young man from Sassari to 2 years and 8 months who, in the first instance, had received a sentence of 4 years and 8 months .

The judges also accepted the request of the defense lawyer Andrea Piroddi , reclassifying the crime from attempted murder to personal injury aggravated by the use of the weapon.

The lawyer insisted during the discussion on the fact that the knife could not have killed and on the uniqueness of the gesture.

Because the then 21-year-old had immediately run away after inflicting the blow, an action that arose following an argument at the entrance to the club in via Carlo Felice in Sassari.

The Sassari native was stopped by other bouncers and arrested by State Police officers, then spending a year in precautionary custody in prison in Bancali.
