A Boeing 737 with 100 passengers on board skidded off the runway during landing and broke into two sections. This is the disastrous scenario hypothesized for the exercise organized in the night between Friday and Saturday at the Elmas airport.

Over 200 operators were involved for 4 hours, including actors, extras and representatives of the entities responsible for managing the rescue, which involved immediate intervention on the plane involved, assistance to the passengers and crew of the aircraft and that to their families rushed into

airport.

«Constant preparation is the key element to always guarantee maximum safety», say Sogaer, the Cagliari airport management company.

Over a hundred volunteers from the Civil Protection were also on the field,

each of whom played the role assigned to them at the start of the exercise, which made it possible to simulate a realistic scenario and thus test all the professionals present and rushed to the airport following the alarm.
