The majority does not intend to contribute to the approval of Truzzu's motion on eliminating the airport tax, but neither does it want to send a signal of total closure to the interested companies.

For these reasons, yesterday in the Regional Council, the discussion on the center-right measure was suspended—at the request of the majority—at the time of the final vote. It resumes today at 9:30 a.m. after a night of negotiations between the two sides , but also within Campo Largo itself, which—it's no longer news—is divided on this issue: on one side, Orizzonte Comune, with Transport Councilor Barbara Manca, and the M5S are fairly supportive of the abatement for the winter months only, while on the other, the Democratic Party and AVS are opposed.

And today? There are two possibilities: the majority manages to convince the FdI group leader Paolo Truzzu to withdraw the motion and participate in drafting an agenda that does not specify the resources the Region must invest to compensate for the lost state revenue (35 million in the case of a total reduction, just over ten for zero in the winter months alone). In short, an agenda much less explicit than the Truzzu motion and one that would allow the Regional Council to continue negotiating with the airlines with the aim of promoting deseasonalization.

In the second scenario , the most likely, the FdI representative will not withdraw his motion, which will then be rejected. In this case, the majority will propose its own text expressing openness to the idea of eliminating the tax , but only for the winter months, and in any case not immediately, perhaps in conjunction with the next Budget Law, as Orizzonte Comune suggested yesterday. In any case—this much is certain—the center-left will send a signal of openness to carriers, even without an agreement with the opposition.

Yesterday, full approval was obtained for the proposed national constitutional law to restore direct elections in the Provinces . Approval was also given to amend Article 43 of the Sardinian Statute, adding the possibility for the Region to regulate the direct election of the bodies of large-area entities. This approach has already been successfully explored by Friuli Venezia Giulia.

The vote was unanimous, but the center-right was somewhat divided. Truzzu, again, stated in his speech that "I will vote yes, but this proposal is clearly unconstitutional."
