A boy stabbed ( HERE IS THE NEWS ), a newsstand devastated, thirty percent less turnover compared to last year. And the authorizations for a party were denied "despite numerous verbal reassurances". The black budget of New Year's Eve in Piazza Yenne, in Cagliari, comes from the operators of the clubs in the area, who met in the afternoon to make calculations. And they're in red. For the blood and the drop in revenue, as well as for the expenses that will have to be borne by Roberto Lilliu, owner of the devastated newspaper shop.

The fault is the lack of security on New Year's Eve. Some entrepreneurs, "unable to manage the few who arrived in the square (about two thousand), had to lower the shutters before the scheduled time". The worst thing, they denounce, «is that the living room of Cagliari was the outskirts of the city for a day. We got involved to try to organize a small event that would give a little more decorum to the square, also thanks to the private security provided for in the project presented to the Municipality." Instead «the area remained abandoned to itself. We are attacked by the administration when cruises arrive and services are missing, but the cleanliness of the city is not taken into consideration: it is certainly not our fault if it is dirty, as in the case of yesterday morning, Monday 1 January, when we were able to record the absence of ecological operators".

The operators would have liked to offer tourists and residents a live event such as a small concert by a group of musicians to enliven the heart of the city also, among other things, with a DJ set, «but after numerous verbal reassurances, it did not arrive the green light from the municipal administration".
