After years of psychological abuse he had reacted to yet another, killing his brother Giorgio Desiderio, 61 years old.

For this reason, today Giuseppe Pittalis, 55 years old, was sentenced by the Nuoro magistrate Giovanni Angelicchio to 14 years and 6 months in prison. A trial which ended with an abbreviated rite, where the third brother, Antonio, who in the immediate aftermath of the tragedy had forgiven the fratricide yesterday was present as the offended party but did not become a civil party. In the last hearing, deputy prosecutor Riccardo Belfiori had requested a 14-year sentence.

Thus ends a very sad story, a tragedy that overwhelmed the Pittalis family and wounded the community of Bitti. The fratricide on March 3, 2023, with the hammer blows arriving at the height of an argument.
