A Canadair was damaged, another had to return to land to refuel, two others - arrived from the peninsula - who continued to launch and a fifth ready to take off from Capodichino (Naples) in case of worsening of the situation. In addition, on land, the Gauf of Oristano, Forestry Corps teams from Tonara and Sorgono, 9 from Forestas, 4 from the fire brigade, four voluntary organizations and two barracelli teams.

The fire that broke out in the morning in the countryside between Sorgono, Atzara and Samugheo put pressure on the fire-fighting apparatus.

The fire, which started in the locality of S'Agase, struck ancient cork oaks, also burning the foliage.

The balance of the damages is still to be drawn up: after more than five hours of fighting the fire, according to what has been learned, is being cleared up. About 150 hectares of forest and Mediterranean scrub were devastated by fire.

The regional councilor for the environment, Marco Porcu, assures that the first intervention was timely: "The sighting was at 10.39, the first helicopter arrived at 10.43, therefore in four minutes".
