Baunei, fly down the escarpment: serious motorcyclist

A German centaur flew six meters down the escarpment on his motorcycle.

The accident occurred around 1.15 pm at kilometer 168 of the Sardinian eastern road, on the border between the territories of Baunei and Urzulei. The firefighters of Tortolì and the volunteers of the Alpine and Speleological Rescue rescued him.

Then they handed it over to the 118 staff who arranged for its transport, aboard the Areus helicopter that arrived from Olbia, to the San Francesco di Nuoro hospital for treatment.

Volunteers from the Pavs of Urzulei and the Carabinieri from the Lanusei mobile radio unit also intervened on the spot.

The man's condition is serious.
